Cedar Planked Salmon Recipes

– 3 (12 inch) untreated cedar plank – ⅓ cup soy sauce – ⅓ cup vegetable oil – 1 ½ tablespoons rice vinegar – 1 teaspoon sesame oil – ¼ cup chopped green onion – 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger – 1 teaspoon minced garlic – 2 (2 pound) salmon fillets, skin removed

Soak cedar planks in warm water for at least 1 hour, or longer if you can.

Mix soy sauce, vegetable oil, rice vinegar, sesame oil, green onions, ginger, and garlic in a shallow dish.

Put salmon fillets in the soy mixture and turn them around to cover them. Let them soak in the marinade for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour in the fridge.

Heat up an outdoor grill to medium heat. Place the soaked cedar planks on the grill until they start to smoke a bit.

Take the salmon out of the marinade and place them on the planks. Get rid of the leftover marinade.

Close the grill cover and cook the salmon for about 20 minutes until it's easily flaky with a fork. Remember, the salmon will keep cooking after you take it off the grill.
