– Make Chocolate Cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9-inch round baking pan.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. 

Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Using a rubber spatula, gently stir in the boiling water (the batter will be thin). Pour into the prepared pan. 

Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs attached, about 30 minutes.
