Simple Beef Short Ribs Recipe

Ingredients: 1. 2 lbs beef short rib 2. Salt and pepper to taste 3. 2 tablespoons olive oil 4. 1 onion, chopped 5. 3 cloves garlic, minced 6. 1 cup beef broth 7. 1/2 cup red wine (optional) 8. 2 tablespoons soy sauce 9. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 10. 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Season the beef short ribs generously with salt and pepper on all sides. 

Step 2: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned short ribs and sear until browned on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. 

Step 3: In the same pot, add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4: Return the seared short ribs to the pot. Pour in beef broth and red wine (if using), scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.

Step 5: Stir in soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Bring the liquid to a simmer.

Step 6: Cover the pot with a lid and transfer it to the preheated oven. Allow the ribs to braise for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and falls off the bone.

Step 7: Once cooked, remove the pot from the oven. Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
